When James is relaxing

James is usually immersed in his part-time PhD studies at the University of Leeds, where he is researching the works of Dostoevsky.

Away from academia, he is an avid dodgeball player and head coach of his local club, playing four times a week. He also represents England at international level and hopes to compete in the Dodgeball World Cup in Thailand.
